Claude Harlan Lombard– Gasoline Truck Driver, Mattawamkeag. He was born Jan. 30,1913, in Caribou, Me. Initiated May 18, Passed June 15, Raised July 13,1940. He served as J.D. 1941; Past Master Pine Tree 1942, 43, 44; Tres. 1945 to 1950; Marshal 1954; and Past Dist. Deputy of the 24th. Dist. 1950 to 52. He was a Member of the RAC # 49, Exalted Aug. 4,1943. He Dimitted from Pine Tree Lodge Feb. 10,1964, and joined Caribou Lodge # 170, Caribou, Me. on June 4,1964. He was Reinstated in Pine Tree Lodge on Dec. 14,1992. Signed the By-laws Jan. 11,1993. He received his 50th. year Veterans Medal May 20,1993. He received his 1st. Bronze Star April 20,1998. Voted a Life Member on Oct. 8,2001. He was a 32nd. Degree Scottish Rite Mason, Valley of Bangor and Portland, a Member of Anah Temple Shrine, Bangor and a Member of the Northern Penobscot Shrine Club. He was an active Member of the Anah Temple Past Masters Unit, and traveled all over the State conferring the Master Mason Degree. He attended Caribou public Schools, then graduated from Bryant and Stratton Business College, Boston Mass. He was instrumental in the purchase of our current Masonic Lodge Hall. Note: See copy of his letter and the transaction of the Lodge from the Smith Heirs. Died March 23,2002 at the Colonial Acres Health Care, Lincoln. He was a Truck Driver for G. O. Smith, Caribou, and worked as an Accountant for his brother, Earle Vaughn Lombard, in Caribou, L.D. Bearce, Caribou. He was employed as Superintendent of Caribou's Municipal Waste Water Treatment Plant. He ran a Gasoline and Propane distributor Business in Mattawamkeag. He was a Member of the First Methodist Church of Mattawamkeag and Caribou. Also a Member of the First Congregational Church in Lincoln. A Memorial Service was held at the First Congregational Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. Darrell Joiner officiating. An Evening Masonic Service was conducted by R.W. Bro. John E. Burleigh Sr, with assistance from the Officers of Pine Tree Lodge, at Clay's Funeral Home, Lincoln. When he was Master of Pine Tree Lodge, he raised Wor. Bro. Elmer A. Tilton and Bro. Clayton Gifford. He was present, when both received their 50th. year Veterans Medal. His wife, Jean Dickerson, was born Oct. 27,1915 in Debec, New Brunswick, and died July 22,2012 at a Bangor health care facility, and was buried with Claude, in the Millinocket Cemetery on Aug. 5,2012. They were Married Jan. 20,1936. Nic Name C. H. Both joined Pine Grove Chapter # 55, OES in 1943. He lived in Mattawamkeag when he joined. Both are buried in the Millinocket Cemetery.
