BAKER, MARIAN CHRISTINE

Marian Christine Baker, age 89 years, of McHenry, IL previously of Auburn, MI, went home to be with The Lord on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 after a brief illness. She was born June 28, 1924 in Knoxville, TN. to Minnie Lee Dallas and G.F.Dallas. She graduated from Edison High School in Ohio at the age of 16 and business collage when she was 18. She worked as a bookkeeper in Columbus, Ohio and it was there that she met her husband, Raymond Baker. They were married at Trinity Baptist Church in Marion, Ohio on May 26, 1946 and moved to Michigan where she held several bookkeeping positions. Then she discovered her real gift was selling Real Estate. For the next 20+ years she helped hundreds of people in their real estate ventures. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and vacations spent at their cottage in Michigan or their condo in Florida. She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She is survived by her son John (Peggy) Baker, four grandchildren, John (Debi) Baker, Ryan (Kristin) Baker, Meghan (Michael) Carrigan, and Nicholas (Jaimie) Baker; and six great grandchildren, Nicole, Brennan, Nathan, Connor, Keagan, and Aoife.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond, siblings Claude and Mabel and great grandson, Jameson. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday June 16, 2014 at the Auburn Chapel of the Cunningham-Taylor Funeral Homes, Inc. Private burial will take place in Floral Gardens Cemetery (Bay City). Marian's family will receive friends at the Auburn Chapel on Monday morning from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
