On June 12, 2014 Dorothy Elizabeth Putman went on to be with the Lord. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2014, in Snyder County Cemetery in Snyder, Texas, where she will be laid to rest. Arrangements are by Shaffer Funeral Home. Dorothy was born on Oct. 9, 1932, in Cottonwood, Texas to Viola and John Snyder.
She was self employed for many years owning a cafe in Robert Lee, Texas. She was known and loved for her "country cooking." Momma was the rock of her family whom she cherished and loved unconditionally. She was a member of Victory Assembly of God in Robert Lee, Texas for many years and dearly loved her pastor and church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Paul Sanders; daughter Gala June Sanchez; and three sons, Boogie Sanders, James Edward Sanders and Bobby Joe Sanders.
Momma is survived by her husband, Rex Putman of Robert Lee,Texas; son Billy Wayne Sanders and wife Yvonne of Albany, Texas; daughters Paula Burchard of San Angelo, Tesas and Eugenia Moran and husband Jason of Robert Lee, Texas; stepdaughter Melanie Remy and husband Gene of San Marcos, Texas; stepson Little Rex Putman and wife Jodie of Phoenix, Arizona; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family requests memorials be given to Victory Assembly of God in Robert Lee, Texas or to a charity of one's choice.
