Mitchell Doyne Young, of Willis, Texas went to walk with the Lord on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 1930 hours after a year long fight with cancer. Mitchell was born January 14, 1940 in Magness, Arkansas.

Mitchell grew up in the Heights area of Houston, Texas and spent most of his adult life living in the Tomball and Lake Conroe areas. Mitchell was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps, 4th Marine Division, and was a recognized veteran of the Cold War. Mitchell served in varying capacities with the Point Aquarius home owner's and marina associations. Prior to his illness, Mitchell was an active hunter and fisherman.

Mitchell is survived by is wife of 56 years, Ann Marie Young (nee Baranowski), his son Daniel Young with daughter-in-law Cheryl of The Woodlands, Texas, daughter Michele Gremillion with son-in-law Richard of The Woodlands, Texas, his grandchildren, Evan Young of The Woodlands, Texas, Amy Young of The Woodlands, Texas, and her fiancé Ryan Mullen, Lauri and Kyle Mazeikas of The Woodlands, Texas, Mark and Whitney Gremillion of Magnolia, Texas, and Sarah and Cliff Brown of Baytown, Texas. Mitchell is also survived by brothers Art Baugh of Willis, Texas, Michael Timme of Fischer, Texas and Duane Young of Industry, Texas. In addition to six great grandchildren, Mitchell is survived by numerous brothers and sisters in law and nieces and nephews.

Mitchell was preceded in death by his father, William Fate Young and mother Eva Myrtle Young (nee Todd).

A Rosary Service will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on June 17, 2014 at Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 8227 County Road 205, Plantersville, Texas. Immediately following the Rosary, the Rite of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Father Edward Kucera, Jr. as celebrant with interment in Saint Mary's Cemetery. Reception to follow at the Saint Mary's Hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made in Mitchell's name to Birthright of Conroe and/or the Saint Vincent de Paul Food Pantry at Saint Mary's in Plantersville, Texas.
