Lifetime Door County resident Elmer J. Husby, age 70 of Route 2 Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, died at Green Bay early Saturday morning. He had been ill the past six months. The son of Peter and Ragnhild Husby, was born in Sister Bay on January 22, 1903. His wife, the former Ellen Madden, preceded him in death in 1968.
Before his retirement, he farmed in Door County and was employed at a local shipyard.
Surviving are five children: Peter of Route 2; Catherine (Harold) Gerdmann of Manitowoc, WI; Mark of Green Bay, WI; Mary (Roland) Rohr of Kewaunee, WI and Margaret (William) Sampone of Egg Harbor, WI; eight grandchildren and two sisters: Mrs. Marie Sylling of LaGrange Park, IL and Mrs. Esther Knudsen of Sturgeon Bay, WI. He was preceded in death by four sons: John, Maurice, Elmer and James; four brothers and four sisters.
Rev. Tremblay officiated at 9:30 am service at the Davis Mortuary on Tuesday. Interment was at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery of Jacksonport.
