George E. Altonen Sr. died at Hunterdon Medical Center. He had been retired for the past 20 years from the New York City Police Department and was a life member of the Police Square Club of New York City, and Midwood Masonic Lodge, Brooklyn N.Y.
He was survived by his wife, Martha F., a son and a daughter; two brothers, John W., Bloomsbury and Henry F., Brooklyn; a sister, Mrs. Henry F. Ahrenhold Jr., Long Island and one grandchild.
