Timothy James Atkins was born in Fresno, CA and went to meet his Maker and join his Father.

Timothy was the seventh child born to Cecil Jesse and Edith Mary Atkins.

We come here today not to mourn the loss of Tim, but rather to celebrate his life. A life filled with great happiness, an ever-smiling face, and memories galore. For those of you who knew Tim, he suffered constantly from pain, but hid it from all except those very dear to him, even then, we did not know the full story.

Tim loved his country, but because of his arthritic condition, known as Anklyosing Spondilitis (Ank lee o sing spawn da lee itis), he was never able to serve in the armed services. However, he proudly honored his country and while family members were in the service and in war zones, he proudly hung flags representing all branches of the armed services on two flagpoles in front of his home until they returned to American soil. How ironic, the day of Tim's passing, he received in the mail new flags to be hung. God Bless America for people such as Tim.

Timothy was a graduate of Central Unified High School. He was an active supporter of the McKinley 4H and Central High School Future Farmers of America Swine Unit.

As the Plant Superintendent for Busseto, Inc. for 23 years, his presence will be missed enormously.

Timothy's life evolved around his family. He loved horseshoes and darts and loved to play with the little ones. After all, he was the biggest kid of all. He eagerly awaited family gatherings where he proudly commandeered the BBQ grill. He really came to life at 4th of July gatherings. After all, setting off the fireworks was 'his job', and when one went awry, boy, could he jump and run out of the way. His greatest hobby was his HO scale model trains.

He was a member of the Kings and Queens Bowling League.

Tim was the kind of guy who could not say "no". He was always ready to lend a helping hand. Tim knew no strangers, only friends he had not yet met. He freely gave whatever he had, never asking for anything in return. You could go to the bank on Tim's word or his handshake. Tim had a heart as big as North America, and it was pure 24-carat gold.

His daughter Carrie and granddaughter Mary Jane survives Tim. His mother Edith also survives him.

Also left behind are his sisters, Shirley Gregory and her husband Richard of Fresno, Linda O'Neal and her husband Dan of Springfield, OR, and Rose Leisle and her husband Stan of Fresno; his brothers, John Atkins of Fremont, CA, Cecil Atkins and his wife Jacquelyn of Fresno, and Richard Atkins and his wife Jennifer of Fresno; 12 nephews, seven nieces, ten great-nephews, and nine great-nieces, many cousins and a multitude of friends.

Visitation will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel on Friday, January 27, 2006, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m.

A Funeral Service will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel on Saturday, January 28, 2006, at 11:00 a.m.

Interment will follow at Fresno Memorial Gardens. Remembrances may be made to Central Unified High School, Ag Boosters Club, c/o Employees Credit Union, Account #11472197.
