Mrs. Susan (Ratliff) Hudson, 60, of Anderson, passed away at her residence on Thursday, June 12th. Services are scheduled for Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 11:00am at Zion Lutheran Church in Anderson with interment in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery. Rev. Chris Richardson will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel. Susan was born Des Moines, Iowa, on February 17, 1954 to Dale and Elinor (Skaggs) Ratliff. She always liked spending time outdoors and as children, she and her sister Christi's pets included everything from horned toads to horses. In her student years, summertime employment entailed working in a Waco veterinarians office. After high school graduation, she enrolled at Texas A&M as an Animal Science major. However, along the way, various events changed her course of study and her career became more business oriented. Susan went to work for Core Lab in the late 1970's. She was promoted into technical sales and transferred to Houston in the early 80's, calling on geologists in the oil and gas industry. She met her husband, Billy, at that time and they married on June 29, 1985. She went on to do sales work for mud logging services, using the great contacts she had established throughout her career. Susan was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and always steadfast in her faith. She is survived by her husband, Billy Hudson; parents Elinor and Dale Ratliff of Des Moines, Iowa; sister and brother-in-law Christi and Chuck Weddington; brother and sister-in-law Bill and Lara Ratliff; four nieces, Ashlee, Lauren, Lindsey and Leslie. Serving as pallbearers are Jonathon Wilk of Euless, Wayne Sealey of Houston, Michael Molitor, Jeff Sullivan, Mark Meyer and Randy Molitor, all of Anderson. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Ratliff and David Hudson.
