Leona McKnight, 87, of Gaylord, formerly of Good Thunder, died Monday, Oct. 16, 2000, at Lakeview Home.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. John Lutheran Church, Good Thunder. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Egesdal Funeral Home, Gaylord, and will continue at 9 a.m. Friday at the church.

She is survived by her daughters, Audre and husband, Luvern Quandt of Rochester, Corrine Uecker of Gaylord; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; stepson, Charles McKnight and wife, Barbara of Trinidad, Colo.; six stepgrandchildren; sister, Edna Dobie of Winnebago; brother, Frederick Stuemke and wife, Rosella of Mankato; sister-in-law, Marie Stuemke of New Germany; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul Hiller, husband, Milton McKnight; son-in-law, Henry Uecker; step-daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Ken Pope; sister, Emma Iams; brother, Milton Stuemke.

She was born Dec. 23, 1912, near Truman to Wilbert and Louisa (Ladage) Stuemke. She moved to Springfield, Ill., with her parents and attended parochial school. She moved back to Minnesota with her parents, and they settled in Good Thunder. She graduated from Good Thunder High School in 1932.

She married Paul Henry Hiller on Sept. 26, 1934, in Good Thunder. They lived in Good Thunder. He died Feb. 29, 1972. On May 22, 1982, she married Milton (Mac) McKnight in Good Thunder. They lived in Good Thunder and Mesa, Ariz., until his death on March 6, 1993. She has since lived in Gaylord. She worked at Sears Roebuck Co. in Mankato and also as a postal clerk and postmaster in Good Thunder with her husband Paul. She was a member of the Good Thunder Senior Citizens group and the Ladies Aid at St. John Lutheran Church.
