Mrs. Augusta Stuemke passed away at her home southeast of town on Wednesday, August 1, 1928, following a long illness with a complication of diseases brought on by the infirmities of old age.

Mrs. Stuemke, whose maiden name was Augusta Rehwaldt, was born in Buffalo, New York, on July 17, 1852. In early childhood, she came with her parents to Altamont, Illinois, where she grew to womanhood and there she was married on January 18, 1879, to F.G. Stuemke. They came to Good Thunder in the spring of 1905 and up to the time of death were residents of this community. Mr. Stuemke passed away on May 17, 1916. For many years the deceased has made her home with her son Louis and family on the home farm southeast of town.

Mr. and Mrs. Stuemke were the parents of five children, four of whom, three sons and a daughter survive. A son passed away in early childhood. Those surviving are Mrs. Bertha Wiechmann of Rochester, MN., Wilbert of Springfield, IL., and Henry and Louis of this place. There are also seventeen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the St John's Lutheran Church here Sunday afternoon, Rev A.C.C. Klammer conducting the services, and interment was made in the family lot in the Lutheran cemetery.

Among those from out of town who attended the funeral were the following: Mrs. Emma Scharf and son Garland and Mrs. Minnie Dial and son Kenneth of Peoria, IL., Mrs. Ida Rehwaldt and Mr and Mrs. H.R. Graf and family of Springfield, IL., and Mr and Mrs. Henry Bahnemann of Afton, MN.

Mrs. Stuemke was a woman of good Christian character and was highly respected by those who knew her. Many friends gathered at the funeral services to pay their last respects to the memory of one who was dear to them.
