Regina Gail "Snookie" (Daughtery) James was born on August 27, 1955 in Stamford, Texas to Leslie and Birdell Daughtery. She was the fourth of six children. Growing up she attended Woodson Elementary, Mann Middle School, and Abilene High School, all in Abilene, TX. She faced many challenges throughout her lifetime, and handled them with strength, faith, and courage. She had a great love, and talent for the arts. She loved dancing, music, and the arts. She enjoyed fashion, and keeping up with the latest trends in make-up, clothing, jewelry, etc. She had a compassionate heart, and a great love for children. She accepted Christ at a very early age. She was a member of the Morning Star Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Joe Jackson, Sr., where she remained a member. She was preceded in death by two sisters: Mary Louise Daughtery, and Reta Renell Daughtery. She is survived by her parents, Leslie and Birdell Daughtery of Abilene, TX; two sisters, Ruby Boyd and Evelyn Holcomb; both of Abilene, TX. One brother, Larry Daughtery (Ethileene) of Abilene, TX. four nephews, four nieces, a host of aunts, cousins, and other relatives.
