A lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was a daughter of the late Burl and Mary Morris Roberson, and was also preceded in death by a son, Gary Mason; and a sister, Edith Guffey.
She was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church. She assisted her husband in the operation of Mason Dairy Farms and was a member of the Farm Bureau. She was associated with First National Bank and Trust for 28 years until her retirement.
Survivors include her husband, R.J. Mason; one son and daughter-in-law, Roy E. "Eddie" and Doris Mason; one daughter-in-law, Janette Pickel Mason; two granddaughters, Shelby M. (Jake) Roberts, and Kyra M. (Scott) Marineau; three grandsons, Joseph Mason, Matthew Gary (Sallie) Mason, and Justin Roy (Stefanie) Mason, all of Niota; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruby Price of Athens; two sisters-in-law, Mary Hardin of Athens, and Hazel Lowry of Niota; and several nieces, nephews and very special friends.
Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. Stanley Hammonds officiating.
The committal service was held Monday, June 16, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Harmony Cemetery.
The family received friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church.
Pallbearers were grandsons, great-grandsons and nephews.
