Glenn L. Blair, 67, a resident of 309 Fox St., Rocky Grove died peacefully Wednesday morning, June 11, 2014, in UPMC-Hamot Medical Center in Erie, with his loving family by his side, following a brief illness. He was born Oct. 26, 1946, in Franklin, a beloved son of Alice Ruth Schmude Blair and the late William J. Blair.

He was a 1964 graduate of Rocky Grove High School, attended Clarion University of Pennsylvania and graduated with a bachelor's degree in sociology. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War era as a sergeant in the U.S. Army, and was awarded a Sharpshooter (M-14) Badge and the National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged from active duty Aug. 1, 1970. For more than 30 years, he was employed by the State of Pennsylvania as a vocational rehabilitation counselor, retiring in June of 2007. He was a member of Jessie Greer Post No. 1835 VFW in Franklin, an avid car enthusiast, enjoyed driving and working on cars, especially BMWs and British cars, and enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family, friends and his girlfriend, Pat Simon of West Middlesex.

Surviving are three sons, Michael G. Blair and wife, Teresa, of Edinburg, TX, Joseph C. Blair and wife, Denise, of Wilmot, NH, and Steven C. Blair of Maryville, TN; grandchildren, Adalyn, Emersyn and Carmen Blair; his mother of Franklin; three sisters, Marsha Kiskadden and husband, Dick, of Franklin, Teresa Whitman and husband, Dave, of Cochranton, and Denise Mahoney and husband, Tom, of Frewsburg, NY; and three brothers, Allen Blair of Johnson City, TN, Bob Blair and wife, Karen, of Tillamook, OR, and Greg Blair and wife, Kathy, of Franklin; many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father.

Services will be at 11 am Monday at Fox Street Church of God with Rev. Lonnie Wolford, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery. Immediately following the committal services, full military funeral honors will be accorded by the V.E.T.S. Funeral Honor Guard of Franklin at the graveside.
