Louise Josephine Burns, 97, of Rockford passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 in Presence Cor Mariae. Born November 27, 1916 in Independence, Wisconsin; daughter of Frank and Victoria (Kowahl) Libowski. Graduated from Independence High School and came to Rockford in 1937. Married Charles Webster on August 14, 1940 in Dubuque, Iowa. He predecease her on December 20, 1950. Married Lloyd Burns on June 10, 1961 in Rockford. He predeceased her on March 6, 1972. Louise worked for the Jewel and National Food Stores for 15 years and Kmart for 10 years. Member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Louise cherished going for long walks. She loved her family, working in the garden, visiting and spending time with her friends and grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathryn Renner of Peoria, IL; son, Michael (Helen) Webster of Rockford, IL; grandchildren, Terrance (Jennifer) Webster, Pam Webster, Julie (Al) Haschke; great-grandchildren, Angelica, Brittany, Paige, Maranda and Emma; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; brothers, Paul and Joe Libowski; sisters, Bernadine Gillis and Florence Stralow.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2400 Bell Avenue. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the church. Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 3910 N. Rockton Avenue, assisted the family.
