BAZETTA - Sheila J. Griffith, 73, died Sunday morning, Jan. 29, 2012, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren.
She was born Dec. 6, 1938, in Canton, the daughter of the late Eugene and Helen Martinek McMurry.
Sheila was a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Warren and attended Ohio University. She retired after more than 30 years as an insurance agent and office manager at Rossi Insurance Agency in Warren.
Sheila was a member of St. Robert Catholic Church in Cortland, where she was a member of the 55 Plus Singles Group. She was past president of the Friends of the Cortland Library, a member of the Red Hat Ladies Club and served as a Trumbull County Mobile Meals volunteer.
She was an avid season ticket holder for Warren Civic Music.
Her husband, William A. Griffith Jr., whom she married Feb. 9, 1962, preceded her in death Aug. 29, 2008.
Sheila is survived by two daughters, Colleen (Ralph) Young of Roscoe, Ill., and Paula (Jeff) Henik of Austintown; a son, Scott (Debbie) Griffith of Rockton, Ill.; five grandchildren, Haley Tucker, Amber and Nolan Henik and Madison and Paige Griffith; and a sister, Sandra (Duane) Crum of San Antonio, Fla.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lane Family Funeral Home, Roberts-Clark Chapel, in Warren and from 10:30 until the 11 a.m. funeral Mass Thursday at St. Roberts Church, where the Rev. Carl Kish will celebrate the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Liver Foundation, 5755 Granger Road, Suite 335, Independence, OH 44131-1455.
