TROY, Kan.
Vachel Lewis 85, died Sunday afternoon at his home, northeast of Troy. He was born near here, and had been lifelong resident of the Troy commumty.
Mr. Lewis was a member of the Burr Oak Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Spanish American War. Survivors include four sons, Chester V. Lewis, Harry V. Lewis, and Roy V. Lewis, all of Troy, and Leslie V. Lewis, St. Joseph; two daughters, Mrs. Ada Thornton and Mrs. Veda Murphy, Troy; two sisters; Mrs. Fannie Seely, Los Angeles, and Sarah Stevens, Elwood, 23 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. The body is at the Tibbetts mortuary, Troy.
