WEATHERSFIELD - Leah June Hall, 68, of 305 Edgewater Pines Drive, died unexpectedly at 8:29 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, in the emergency room at the Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital from a heart ailment.
She was born Oct. 30, 1941, in Kelleys Island to the Rev. Hiram D. and Mary Elizabeth Hart Kern, and lived in this area all her life.
Leah was a 1959 graduate of Liberty Township High School, a member of the Pleasant Valley Church, and an avid reader. She enjoyed doing scrapbooking and was a member of the Women of Faith.
She is survived by a brother, Charles "Chuck" (Jane) Kern of Saint Charles, Mo.; three stepdaughters, Lynda (Thomas) Logan of Lordstown, Mary Jo (Dan) Calhoun and Donna Leann Hall, both of Warren; one stepson, Clyde Allen Hall of Warren; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two nieces, Becky (Tim) Kern-Ryan of Ferguson, Mo., and Jenny (Ryan) Canda of Overland, Mo.; three great-nieces, Avi, Coryn and Lissie; and one great-nephew, Ethan.
Besides her parents, Leah was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde C. Hall, whom she married Feb. 27, 1982. He died Jan. 15, 1998. She also was preceded in death by her son, John Russell "Jack" Varley, who died Nov. 19, 1987.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Brainard officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour before services. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Cortland.
