Born to the late Raymond and Amanda Martin, Dorothy was a seamstress for the Chatham Dress Factory in Elmer for 16 years and then later worked in Salem and Landisvile. Before she was a seamstress, Dorothy worked at the Elmer Diner where she met the love of her life, George Englehart, Jr.. She enjoyed watching cooking shows, game shows (especially "Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy"), and "The Lawrence Welk Show", liked to go to McDonalds and loved her dog, Cocoa. But what really brought her joy was to cook meals for the holidays and to have all of her family around her.
