Donald "Donn" DeLois Marr of Bella Vista, Arkansas formerly of Pineville, Louisiana, went to be with the Lord on June 12, 2014. He was born August 3, 1920 to Roy A. and Florence Daniel Marr in Battle Creek, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Merle.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years Barbara McCann Marr, two daughters Susan Rodney (Gene), Debbie Carr (Jack), two grandsons Chris Rodney (Amy) and Cory Rodney (Donnelle) and four great-grandchildren, Brooke, Krista, Preston and Parker. He also leaves two half-brothers, Doug Marr of Live Oak, California and Bob Burkhead of Spokane, Washington and one half-sister Donna Martinez of Elk Grove, California.
Donn loved to play baseball! After graduating from high school he played in the Van Johnson League in Kansas and Nebraska where he held the strikeout record for many years. He was also an avid fisherman.
He was a 1st Sergeant in the US Army during WWII serving in the South Pacific in the 126th Infantry with the 32nd Red Arrow Division. He was awarded two Bronze Stars and several other combat medals. After working with his father-in-law, H.H. McCann in Pineville, Louisiana, he went on to a career in sales and public relations in the sporting goods industry, retiring at the age of 80. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pineville.

Graveside service with full military honors will be 2:00 p.m. Monday; June 16, 2014 at the Fayetteville National Cemetery with Pastor Benny Thompson officiating.
