Angela Ortega, 41, of Bryan, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 12, 2014. A time for family to receive friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Hillier Funeral Home with a rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Celebration of life services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Sanctuary of Praise, 1216 Beck Street in Bryan with Pastor Jose Alaniz officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery with Msgr. John McCaffrey presiding.
Angela was born on January 13, 1973 in Abilene to Frances (Alcarez) and Valentin Ortega Jr. She grew up in El Dorado, Arkansas and moved with her family to Bryan in 1980. Angela was a free spirited person and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved to grow vegetables and raise flowers. Angela enjoyed cooking, putting together meals and was always ready to go to a good BBQ. Her passion was singing, especially 50's and Christian music.
She is preceded in death by her son, Noah Matthew Bailey and her father, Valentin Ortega Jr.
Angela leaves behind her sons, Zachary Scott Sanchez and Michael Scott Sanchez; mother, Frances Ortega; brothers, Nick Ortega and wife, Irene and Valentino Ortega III and girlfriend, Roxanne Jones; sisters, Beatrice Sanchez and husband, Daniel and Eva Jones as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
