Mr. E. Dalton Weber, 97, of New Orleans, LA passed away peacefully on June 10 after a short illness.

Dalton graduated from Samuel J. Peters Commercial High School, and then attended Loyola University.

He worked for the Federal Barge Lines, and then volunteered to serve his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, and participated in the European campaign.

After the war, he returned to Federal service with the Internal Revenue Service.

He continued to serve his country as a member of the Louisiana Army National Guard. His unit was activated during the Berlin Crisis, and deployed to Fort Eustis, VA for 10 months in 1961. He later served in the U.S. Army Reserves Judge Advocate General, and retired as a chief warrant officer.

Dalton was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years Elsie "Bonnie" Louise Bonnecarrere, daughter Janet Weber Chiro, parents, Ewell T. Weber and Constance Champagne Weber, brother, Ewell T. Weber, Jr., and sister, Joyce Weber Eichorn.

He leaves behind his four cherished children, Edwin D. Weber, Jr. of New Orleans, Alan S. Weber (Janell) of Destrehan, LA, Richard A. Weber of New Orleans, LA, and Judith A. Weber of Metairie, LA.

He also leaves behind a son-in-law, Julian Chiro, five grandchildren, Alana, Randy, Dalton, Jordan and Chelsea, and three great-grandchildren.

In addition, he is survived by brothers William Weber of Slidell, LA and Harold Weber of Gretna, LA, sister Rita Weber Rue of Metairie, LA, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Laid to rest with full military honors.
