Stanley John Siefkes, of Phoenix, passed away in Phoenix on Friday April 4, 2014, at the age of 68. Stan was born in Lincoln on April 20, 1945, the son of the late Herman and Ruth Siefkes and brother of the late Helen Siefkes Taylor. A graduate of Lincoln High School and the University of Nebraska, he served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970. He moved to Phoenix where he met and married the love of his life, Shau, who predeceased him in death on Jan. 22, 2014, after 28 years of marriage.

Stan worked as a certified public accountant in Phoenix having achieved an MBA and a doctorate degree in accounting at the University of Arizona and Arizona State University. Stan loved his dog Sheeba, the climate of the Phoenix area, and the Nebraska football team.

His family includes his brother, Don Siefkes (Rosemary); nephew, Jon Taylor (Susan); nieces, Dana Lynn Chamberlin (Bryan) and Alexandra Rodas (Birton Gilbert); many wonderful cousins in Nebraska; his father-in-law, Max Porath (Mary); his late mother-in-law, Judith Babler; sisters-in-law, Julie Porath (Alfredo Calles), Lauryl Allen, and Louise Mucci; and brothers-in-law, Max Porath and Toren Allen (Stacey).

A Lutheran funeral and memorial service will be held at 12 noon, with visitation at 11:30 a.m., on Saturday, June 14th, at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery and Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th St, Lincoln, NE 68512.
