George was the son of Thomas Jarvis & Evelyn Barron Jarvis (1818-1908)
He was a member of Company "E" 32nd. Regiment of the Alabama Volunteers & was Killed in Action at Missionary Ridge on 10/1/1862 leaving behind his young wife Georgia Ann Hudson Jarvis (1836-1916) & 3 small children .William Thomas Jarvis (8/10/1857-11/6/1948} ,David Lenard Jarvis (8/12/1859-2/2/1933, & Emma Josephine Jarvis Anderson (1/25/1861-3/17/1947)
