He Served in the United States Army during World War II, was a member of the Bridgeport United Methodist Church and the American Legion.
He retired as a supervisor of operations at the Texaco Refinery after 32 years and also owned/operated the Jones Modern Landscaping since 1969
In addition to his wife he was survived by a daughter and son-in-law, three sisters, two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
Funeral services for Hugh L. Jones were held on November 1, 2008 in the Bridgeport United Methodist Church followed by interment in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery
