Donna Mae Quinton Young, 79, of Idaho Falls, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at Lily & Syringa Assisted Living Center of natural causes. She was under the care of her loving family and Hands of Hope Hospice.
Donna was born Nov. 1, 1934, in Osgood, Idaho, to Alfred James Quinton and Ella Teressa Sorensen Quinton. She grew up in the Terreton area and lived most of her married life in Idaho Falls.
On Sept. 14, 1955, she married Gale E. Young in Terreton. Donna and Gale made their home in Idaho Falls, and Donna was a wife, mother and homemaker. She also worked at Simplot.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting and camping.
Donna is survived by her daughter, Sharol (Andy) Aranda of Meridian, Idaho; sons, Dale (Jonna) Young of Idaho Falls and Michael R. (Teresa) Young of Ammon; sisters, Janis Larsen of Idaho Falls and Margie Haycock of Terreton; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gale; her son, Bobby Max Quinton; four brothers; and six sisters.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery, 4600 S. Yellowstone Highway. The family visited with friends from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday and also will visit with friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday prior to services at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave.
