CHOATE—Billy Hicks Choate, 87 passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2014 in Jacksonville, FL. Billy was born on July 17, 1926 in Chidester, Arkansas but lived most of his life in Jacksonville. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired from CSX Railroad after 44 years service. He was a member of Murray Hill United Methodist Church and enjoyed dancing, watching westerns and dressed to impress. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Walter Lee Choate and Martha Ruby Hicks Choate; sisters, Alice Frances Powers Cobb and Dorothy Choate. Survivors include his sister, Linda Sherry ; brother, Herbert Choate (Blanche) and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services in celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2014, 11:00 AM in the chapel of JACKSONVILLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, FL.
