Services for Harrell C. Helton, 81, of Corrigan, will be held in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of Groveton Funeral Home in Groveton. Interment will follow the services in Ivie Cemetery in Kennard.

Visitation held today at Groveton Funeral Home.

Harrell C. Helton, age 81, of Corrigan, Texas, completed his earthly journey and went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 11, 2014 in Lufkin, Texas. He was born on August 22, 1932 in Trinity County, Texas, to his parents, Lonnie O. Helton and Jonah (Ainsworth) Helton.

Harrell was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He grew up attending church and was a Baptist by faith. He served in the United States Army and fought in the Korean War. Harrell was a Mason and a member of Masonic Lodge #1 in Houston, Texas. He was also a fellow member of the Carmona third Thursday Group.

Harrell is preceded in death by:
* his parents
* his wife, Barbara Helton
* son, Harrell C. Helton, Jr.
* brother, Lon – L. Helton

His survivors include:
* his son and daughter-in-law, Dale Helton and Melanie Helton, of Corrigan, Texas
* 4 grandchildren: grandson, Harrell C. Helton, III, of Corrigan, Texas, grandson, Justin Helton, of Corrigan, Texas, granddaughter, Alaina Helton, of Lufkin, Texas, and granddaughter, Haley Helton, of Houston, Texas
* long time special friend, Betty Martin, of Lufkin, Texas
* numerous other relatives and friends

He will be escorted to his final resting place in Ivie Cemetery in Kennard, Texas by his pallbearers ... Honorary pallbearers are the Members of the Carmona Third Thursday Group.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 13, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of Groveton Funeral Home in Groveton, Texas.
