The relatives and friends of Mr. Sam Black are invited to attend his funeral service on Friday, June 13, 2014, 11:00 a.m., at Calvary AME Church, 2040 Groveland Avenue, North Charleston, SC. Interment, Carolina Memorial Park.
Viewing will be Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., and the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Black will repose at the church Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. There will be no viewing after the funeral.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elise Black; his children, Mr. Terry Hooks, Rev. Dr. Marvin (Terry) Hooks, Sr., Mr. Michael Black and Mr. Wayne (Monique) Black; siblings, Mrs. Elizabeth (Dr. Oliver) Addison, Mr. Jerome (LaJune) Black, Mrs. Rebecca Gordon and Mr. Tom (Cora) Black; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Intrepid Hospice, 2694 Lake Park Drive, North Charleston, SC 29406.
