Dean Alan Roberts, 50, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.

He was born Dec. 12, 1963, to Mickey Lee Roberts and Marilyn (Silverman) Roberts in Norfolk, Virginia.


Survivors include his mother of Washington; son, Isaac Singleton of New Whiteland; sister, Diana Bell and husband, David, of California; niece, Kaelin Bell; Aunt, Norma Roberts; cousin, Vanessa Chaney; nephews, Dustin Chaney and Kevin Chaney; stepsons, Terry Ragsdle and Brandon Ragsdle; six grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren.


Dean was a member of Crossroad Community Church in Shelbyville.


He enjoyed fishing and also spent a lot of time in fellowship with close friends.


Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN 46176.


Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Edwin Mohr officiating.


Memorial contributions may be made to the Dean Alan Roberts Funeral Fund in care of the funeral home.


Funeral Directors Greg A. Parks, Sheila J. Parks and Stuart Parks are honored to conduct the services for Mr. Roberts.
