MRS. FLORENCE SIMS
Mrs. Florence Sims passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2006, at 94 years of age.
Florence was born in Fairfield, OK, and then her family moved to Reedley, CA. There she met the love of her life, Glen Sims.
Glen and Florence had the best time of their lives in Dunlap where they owned numerous businesses but were best known for being proprieters of The Dunlap Inn, Store, Post Office and Library.
Florence was the Postmaster, head chef, and bottlewasher for her family and always fed the entire hill.
Florence was a wonderful cook.
Upon retirement, they became snowbirds and were happy wanderers, spending time in Quartsite, AZ, where they made life long friends and memories.
Florence is predeceased by her husband Glen. Florence was blessed with three children, Jim Sims and his wife Kathy of Highland, CA, Doug Sims of Bakersfield and Nancy Shepherd and her husband Stuart of Riverton, WY;
along with ten grandchildren, and
17 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Orchard Park for their love and care, especially Leticia.
A Graveside Service will be held at Reedley Cemetery on Friday, January 27, 2006, at 1:00 p.m.
