July 21, 1836 - Purchased 160 acres of land in Eel River Township, IN

May and April 1838 - On trial in Fort Wayne, IN

1847 to 1850/51 - In Jackson County, MI prison

January 20, 1855 - Released from Indiana State Prison. Duration: unknown. Conviction: unknown.

September 12, 1856 - Involved in the theft of 3 horses in Lagrange County Indiana.

January 1, 1872 - Married Lucinda (Jones) Patterson in Barren Co, KY

January 15, 1878 - "Lucinda Crapo and her husband Asa" purchased 16 acres off Bowling Green Lane in Glasgow Junction (now Park City), KY

1880 - Lived in Glasgow Junction, KY (U.S. Census)

1884 - Died in Rocky Hill, KY

In his Last Will and Testament, Asa left his estate to his 2nd wife's niece and 21 year old housekeeper/servant, Lucetta "Cetta" Jones. She refused to serve as Executrix. The county took control of his estate and sold it (see "Sale Bill of Estate" in images).

At this time there is no record of Asa's exact burial location. It is not mentioned in his Will, the Probate Records, or the local newspaper.

Also note that there is a supposed photograph of Asa and Alice Crapo that has not been verified. The photographer, H.M. Norton, did not begin his photography business in Vermontville, MI until 1882. By 1882, Alice Thomas was most likely deceased and Asa had remarried and was living in Kentucky. This picture is most likely Asa's son, Asa Jr.
