In his Last Will and Testament, Asa left his estate to his 2nd wife's niece and 21 year old housekeeper/servant, Lucetta "Cetta" Jones. She refused to serve as Executrix. The county took control of his estate and sold it (see "Sale Bill of Estate" in images).
At this time there is no record of Asa's exact burial location. It is not mentioned in his Will, the Probate Records, or the local newspaper.
Please see ALL the images attached to this memorial. They are listed in chronological order.
Also note that there is a supposed photograph of Asa and Alice Crapo that has not been verified. The photographer, H.M. Norton, did not begin his photography business in Vermontville, MI until 1882. By 1882, Alice Thomas was most likely deceased and Asa had remarried and was living in Kentucky. This picture is most likely Asa's son, Asa Jr.
