Jacob Molleker Jr., 86, died Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Hays Medical Center. He was born June 27, 1927, in Hyacinth to Jacob Molleker Sr. and Catherine (Brungardt).

He married LaVerna Korbe on April 19, 1949, in Munjor.

He was a farmer in the Hyacinth area and later worked at Travenol. He was a U.S. veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Hays Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed woodworking, playing cards and his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; his children, Donald Molleker and wife, Robyn, Marion, Jacques Molleker and wife, Joan, Larned, Errol Molleker, Hays, and Gilletta Molleker and husband, Kelly Kimerer, Beloit; a brother, Daniel Molleker, Bothell, Wash.; a sister, Esther Schmidt, Hays; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Paul, Leo and Donald Lee; four sisters, Bertha Molleker, Martha Brungardt, Rose Mary Wagner, an infant sister, Rose Mary; and a grandchild, Wesley Paul Molleker.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Munjor. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, both at Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601. A rosary will be at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, followed by a vigil at 6:30 p.m., both at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph elevator fund in care of the funeral home.
