Jeff Sanders, age 56, of Newcomerstown, died Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Union Hospital. He was born Thursday, October 3, 1957 in Newark, OH to the late Dwain and Shirley (Fillman) Sanders. He was a 1976 graduate of Newcomerstown High School. Following graduation, he pursued classes towards his EMT certification. Jeff was employed in the maintenance department at Riverside Manor Nursing Home, a position he has held since their opening in 1978. Many will remember Jeff at his other profession, as a Paramedic and EMT with Tri County Joint Ambulance District for the past 38 years. He was their first responder and eventually worked his way up the ranks to the position of Chief. Not only did Jeff touch many lives, he saved many lives as well. Jeff is survived by 2 boys he raised as his own, Dustin and Devin Murray of Newcomerstown, his sister, Beth Taylor and her husband Jim of Guernsey, and his brothers, Randy and his wife Brenda and Richard and his wife Beth of Newcomerstown, several nieces and nephews, and a great niece and a great nephew. A funeral service honoring his life will be led by his family and friends on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Addy Funeral Home. Burial will follow in West Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 16, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Addy Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Tri County Joint Ambulance District, 530 S.
