Jean Lassiter Payne, 87, of Columbia, died Tuesday, June 10, 2014. Born on October 10, 1926, in Petersburg, VA, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Lizzie Dunn Lassiter.
Ms. Payne was a graduate of Dreher High School and attended USC. A member of Lykesland Baptist Church, she enjoyed reading and working crosswords, but most of all, she enjoyed time with her family and friends, by whom she will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Russell Duty.
The funeral service for Ms. Payne will be held in the mausoleum chapel of Memorial Gardens of Columbia, 9301 Wilson Blvd, Columbia, 29203.
