MIDDLETOWN, RI--Abbie I. Greenman Perry, 84, of 600 Valley Road, Middletown, RI, died Saturday, February 11, 2006, at John Clarke Nursing Home, Middletown, RI.

Born in Newport, RI, on March 9, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Walter Greenman and Ida Irwin Greenman.

Mrs. Perry was a nurse's aide for many years having worked for the Baptist Home, Catherine Manor and Murphy's Rest Home. She was also a longtime active member of the Salvation Army.

She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Peebles of Fort Myers, FL; four grandchildren, Carletta Kershaw of Fort Myers, FL, Charles Peebles of Fall River, MA, Myralee Peebles of Wakefield, RI, and Stacy Pine of Fort Myers, FL; and six great-grandchildren.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in the Hambly Funeral Home, "Brick House", 30 Red Cross Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2006, from 2-4:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
