She was born on June 17, 1941, in Chicago, the daughter of Rufus and Lillian Crain Kennedy. She married Jack Cole on March 1, 1972, in Danville. He survives.
Also surviving: one son, Courtney (Donita) Cole of St. Michael, Minn.; three daughters, Michaela (David) Borum of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Angela Cole of Georgetown and J.J. Nelson of Olivet; one brother, Milton Kennedy of Mediapolis, Iowa; one sister, Sharon (Daryl) Morse of Evans, Ga.; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter.
Geneva was a member of the American Legion Dornblaser Post 203 Women's Auxiliary. She baked and decorated cakes and cookies for many people.
A celebration of Geneva's life will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2006, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home in Georgetown. Officiating: Pastor James Blue; Burial: Georgetown Cemetery; Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26 at the funeral home.
