She was a graduate of Moundsville High School. She spent many years as an office manager and as a reservation agent for Southwest Airlines. Arlis Farms of Claysville, Pennsylvania was where Phyllis spent many years enjoying gardening and showing Charolais cattle.
She loved the Lord and enjoyed worshipping with friends and family as a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. Phyllis had a beautiful alto singing voice and especially took pleasure in singing with her church family at the Memorial Road Church of Christ. Traveling, board games, cards and puzzles with family and friends were also her delight. Her courage, sense of humor, positive attitude and enthusiasm for joining her family in all activities in which they participated will forever be admired by her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are one son, Ronald of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, two daughters, Connie Hull {Greg} of Chandler, Arizona and Joan Gieger of Edmond, Oklahoma, four grandchildren, Andrew Hull of Edmond, Oklahoma, Stacy Hull Jarrell {Jake} of Flower Mound, Texas and Harrison and Jackson Gieger of Edmond, Oklahoma and one great grandson, Luke Jarrell. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Marty Winchester, her parents and her sister, Donna Mae.
A memorial service will take place at the Matthews Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Edmond, Oklahoma. A graveside service will take place Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Claysville Cemetery, Claysville, Pennsylvania.
