Mr. Raymond A. Kent, 68, of Huguley died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011 at George H. Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley.

Funeral services are planned for Friday, Feb. 18 at 3 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with the Rev. Mike Newman officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Lanett.

Mr. Kent is survived by five daughters, Leeanne Shaw, Shelley (Chris) Gleaton, Cristy (Mike) Blom, Rikki Kent and Alicha Frank; grandchildren, Brennon Shaw, Carson Shaw, Haley Gleaton, Heidi Gleaton, Lauren Kiskunes and Kayanna Frank; two brothers, Charles Kent and Bobby Kent; and a sister, Mickey Metcalf.

Born Dec. 28, 1942 in Baltimore, Md., Mr. Kent was the son of the late Dovie Ingram Kent and Dewey Kent.

He was a veteran, who served in the U. S. Navy and was stationed on the USS Kitty Hawk. He retired six years ago from Wilden Plastics in Peachtree City, Ga.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Feb. 17 from 7 until 9 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
