Mrs. Matheny was born July 16, 1924, in Blackduck to Andrew and Gladys Paul. She married Ralph Matheny July 21, 1645, in St. Paul and they made their home in Blackduck. In 1950 they moved to St. Paul for three years. The couple then moved to Willmar, and in 1975 they returned to Blackduck. She has spent the last several years as a resident of the Northern Pines Good Samaritan Center in Blackduck.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph of Blackduck; a son, Kelly (Beth) Matheny of Kelliher; two daughters, Liz (Dave) Thunstedt of Alden and Vicky (Mike) Miller of Branson, Mo.; five sisters, Dorothy Swedberg of Aitkin, Adella Stahlecker of Superior, Wis., Margaret Anderson of Eagen, Emily Lindblad of Svea, and Elaine Steurnagle of Anery, Wis.; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Duane Paul.
