Delbert was a resident of North Charleston for 33 years and was a former heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Union.
He was preceded in death by his son Gary Marshall Dillon. Delbert is survived by his wife Emma Jean Dillon, daughter Ellen Faye Whiting of Poca, son Timothy Dillon of North Charleston, grandchildren Erica Whiting, Anna Williams, and Starla Dillon, and six great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Delbert's life was held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2009 in the chapel of Tyler Mountain Funeral Home and Memory Gardens, 5233 Rocky Fork Road, Cross Lanes, W. Burial followed in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
