Jon William West, 48, died Jan. 25, 1993. He was a native of Sheboygan, Wis., and had been a resident of Fort Pierce for the past 15 years.

He was Episcopalian. He was a former member of the St. Lucie Sailing Club.

He was employed as a technician by Florida Gas Transmission of Fort Pierce.

He was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the First Air Cavalry Division. He received the Purple Heart and the ACM with "V" device and the air medal with second oak leaf cluster.

Survivors include his parents, William and Caroline West of Stuart; and one sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Jim Anthony of Stuart.

Those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. Mary`s Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 24713, West Palm Beach, Fla. 33416-4713. Designate the contribution for the Trauma Unit in memory of Jon West.

Services: Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Wallace and White Funeral Home Chapel. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary`s Episcopal Church of Stuart, with the Revs. Jonathan B. Coffey and Thomas T. Pittenger officiating. Burial will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
