Gertrude Elizabeth Holle, 89, died Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Hiawatha, Kansas.

Visitation is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville, Kansas.

Rosary will be 7 p.m. , Thursday at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, Marysville.

A Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m., Friday, June 13, 2014 at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, Marysville.

Gertrude was born February 2, 1925 to Henry and Anna (Borzekofski) Zumbahlen in Beatrice, Nebraska. She attended St. John's Catholic School and graduated from Hanover High School in 1942. She attended Kansas State College and received her teaching certificate. She taught for several years in small, rural, one room schools.

Gertrude worked for a while as a receptionist for Drs. Carl Ott and Judy York. She was united in marriage to Allen Holle in 1950. Her greatest love was being a housewife and babysitter. Gertrude was known for her pies and her sewing.

Gertrude was a member of St. Gregory's Catholic Church, Altar Society, and American Legion Auxiliary.

She moved to Vintage Park Assisted Living Care Facility, Hiawatha, in 2012, where she resided until her death.

Gertrude was especially fond of the Dale and Judy York family, Jason, Tiffany (Tim) Anderson, Allison and Jonathan, and claimed them all as members of her family.

Survivors include her three childen, Rita (Rod) Spellman, Hiawatha; Carol (Scott) Slupianek, Marysville; Allen (Peggy) Holle, Pewaukee, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren, Holle (Will) Lancaster, Hillary (Noel) Baye, Halley (Ryan) Chase, Erin (Kim) Edwards, Chris (Amanda) Slupianek, Liza and Dana Holle; and eight great-grandchildren, Lucas and Jackson Lancaster, Quinn, Brennon and Kellen Baye, Carter Chase, Ashlynn and Jax Slupianek.

A memorial fund has been established to St. Gregory's Catholic School or Vintage Park. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville.
