Albert Hayden Patwell, 80, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005 at his home in rural Harmony, Minn.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 2, 2006 at the United Methodist Church in Harmony, Minn., at 10:30 a.m. Lindstrom Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
The family lived in St. Paul where he graduated from Washington High School and attended the University of Minnesota. He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS LCI 744. He accepted a sales position with Gibson Greeting Cards and moved the family back to St Paul, Minn.
After 23 years, he worked through the ranks to regional sales manager responsible for seven district managers and 85 salesmen.
In 1976, he opened a Ben Franklin store in Clintonville, Wis., and later went back into the greeting card business as a vice president with Norcross Greeting Cards.
His wife died in 1969 and he remarried to Marjorie Elliot Jacobson June 25, 1972. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Lodge, and the Rotary. Among his many interests, he loved to travel, read books, follow his grandson's football games, and enjoy his family.
He is survived by his wife Marjorie; his children; John (Jean-Louis LeTortorec) Patwell, of Greenville, DE, Jeff (Terri) Patwell of Cross Plains, Wis., and Joanne (Clarence) Hawkins of Coon Rapids, Minn.; his sister Delores Abramson of Madison, Wis.; a son-in-law Bob Petrie of Wayzata, Minn.; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; step-children, Diane (Jim) Vagts, Darrell Jacobson, Brent (Christie) Jacobson; five step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Lois; a daughter, Jane Petrie; son, Steven Patwell; a sister, Grace Samuelson; and a step-child, Neil Jacobson.
