He was born on April 16, 1904 in the Town of Berry. He lived most of his life in the Springfield and Martinsville area.
He was married to the former Mary A. Bong in September of 1933. She preceded him in death in 1982. He was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Martinsville.
Survivors include two sons; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Fass of Middleton and Mrs. Lorina (Leo) Zander of Sauk City; and four brothers, Math (Catherine) of Middleton, George (Margaret) of Middleton, Frank of Sauk City and Herbert (Rosina) of Sun Prairie.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 13, at the Winn-Schwab Funeral Home and at St. Martin's Catholic Church. Reverend Thomas Schroeder officiated. Burial took place in the church cemetery.
