Eva was born January 15, 1925 in Greenville, North Carolina to Clyde and Laura Cummings. She grew up in North Carolina then moved to New Orleans when she was a teenager and graduated from a New Orleans, LA High School. She then moved to the Plaza in Kansas City, MO where she was a flight attendant for Mid-Continent airlines for three years. Eva married Robert B. Atkinson, Sr. in Kansas City, MO. They moved to Overland Park and then to the Stanley area in 1964. Eva settled in Spring Hill in the 1990s to be closer to her family. She enjoyed taking care of her animals on the farm. Eva loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially during the holiday get-togethers. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert in 1973 and brother, Clyde Cummings. She is survived by children: Robert B. Atkinson, Jr. of Springdale, AR, Steven R. (Tanjia) Atkinson, Hillsdale, KS and Eva M. Prince, Gardner, KS; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
