Bobby James McAbee, Jr., 61, of 1680 S. Beersheba Road, Clover, S.C., passed away June 4, 2014, at home.
He was the husband of Martha Kirk McAbee of the home and a son of the late Herbert James and Sarah Ramsey McAbee.
He was a self-employed roofer. He loved his children and grandchildren. He loved outdoor sports and was an excellent horseshoe player.
In addition to his wife, Martha, he is survived by two sons - Michael James McAbee of Hickory Grove, S.C., and Timothy Lee McAbee of York, S.C.; and six grandchildren - Dillion Penson of Kings Mountain, N.C., Sloan McAbee of York, S.C., Gavin Huffman of York, S.C., Jamie McAbee of Gaffney, S.C., Vanassa Rowe of Hickory Grove, S.C. and Michael James McAbee, Jr. of Hickory Grove, S.C.; and two brothers - Charles McAbee of Grover, N.C., and James McAbee of Cherryville, N.C..
In addiiton to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers - Larry McAbee, Carl McAbee and Raymond McAbee; and three sisters - Lavona Strickland, Betty Wooten and Virginia McAbee.
The family will be at the home of Angela Funderburke, 353 Mullinax Circle, Blacksburg, S.C., and will receive friends there also.
A graveside Celebration Of Life Service will be held Thursday, June 12, 2014, 2:00 p.m., at Lakeview Memory Gardens, York, S.C., with Preacher Crystal Childers officiating.
Pallbearers serving are Douglas "Pee-Wee" Childers, Scott Bolin, Nick Hester and Michael James McAbee, Jr.
