Moundsville, W. Va. - Wilber H. Lude, 85, of Elm Avenue died Sunday (July 28, 2002) at the Bishop Hodges Continuous Care Center in Wheeling, W. Va.

He was born Feb. 12, 1917, in Antioch, to Clarence C.[Chris] and Clara E. [Elizabeth] Hoff Lude. He was retired from the former Allied Chemical Corp. He was a member of McMechen Church of Christ, served on the Moundsville Council and was a former mayor of Moundsville. [Note: His mother's name was Clara, not Clare]

He is survived by his wife of 64 years ((whom he had married in 1938), Gladys L. ((Louise)) Jackson Lude of Moundsville; two sons, Don ((Franklin)) Lude and his wife, XXXX and XXXX and his wife, XXXX; four daughters, XXXX and her husband, XXXXX, XXXX and her husband, XXXX, XXXX and her husband, XXXX and XXXX and her husband, XXXX; two sisters, Florence ((Louise)) Lallathin and her husband, Ralph and XXXX; one brother, Clarence P. ((Clarence Paul "Paul")) Lude; 21 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, 100 S. Paul St., Woodsfield, with Evangelist Bill Carroll officiating. Burial is in West Union Cemetery near Sardis. Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to West Union Cemetery, in care of, 43074 Monroe County 10A., Woodsfield, OH 43793.
