James Grady "Jim" Beene, Jr., age 56 of Thompson's Station, passed away on Thursday, June 5 at his residence.

Jim was born August 10, 1957 in Birmingham, AL and was the son of James Grady Beene, Sr and Martha Ann Sisson Beene. He was a sales manager with Walker Chevrolet and had been in the car business for over 30 years in the Nashville and surrounding area.

Jim loved life. His easy-going spirit made him a person that people wanted to be around. He could fill a room with his laugh, and prided himself in being "The Guardian" to those he loved and cared for. He had a love for the beach, but most enjoyed coaching baseball for his son's teams.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a son: Nick. He is survived by his son: Connor Beene of Thompson's Station; a brother: Chuck Beene of Knoxville; two nephews: Charles Alexander Beene and Austin Harrison Beene; and Karen Goodwin of Antioch, who brought him so much joy and happiness, and whom he loved and cherished deeply.

A memorial service was held at Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia, TN on 8 June 2014
