Arnold "Arnie" Young, 89, of Dunbridge, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 8, 2013.
He was born July 10, 1923 in Louisa, Kentucky to Susan (Compton) and Isaac Young. He married Irene Schmaltz on April 27, 1959 and she survives in Dunbridge.
Arnie worked for Peterstamping, Inc., where he was a tow motor mechanic for 39 years.
He was a member of the Bowling Green Church of the Nazarene. He found great joy in fishing, gardening, playing Dart ball with the church, and painting cars.
Arnold is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Irene, daughters, Susan Ruth Rider of Carmel, Indiana, Mary Lissa Young-Cervantes of Metamora, Ohio, Taylor Dukes of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Lori Ann Christopher of Jonestown, Pennsylvania; sons, Jonathan David Young of St. Louis Missouri, Nicholas Arnold Young of Rome, Georgia; 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and five sisters.
Visitation will be held Sunday, May 12, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 at DUNN FUNERAL HOME, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 West Wooster Street. The funeral service will be held Monday, May 13, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Bowling Green Church of the Nazarene, 15341 Gorrill Rd. Rev. Joel Nichols will officiate.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Bowling Green Church of the Nazarene or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
