Catherine M. Gotschall, 96, formerly of Lincoln Ave., Carrollton, and Valley View NW, Canton, died December 22 in Pines Nursing Center at Canton after an extended illness. Born November 28, 1901, in Carroll County, she was a daughter of the late David and Daisy (Boggs) Scott. She was a member of the Carrollton First Presbyterian Church, Carroll Order of Eastern Star and Carrollton Garden Club. She had been a member of the former Campbell Rebekah Lodge at Carrollton.
Her husband, Carl S. Gotschall, whom she married July 9, 1924, preceded her in death June 1, 1978. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, Louise Young of Canton, Peggy Meeks of Canton, Dick Coleman of Erie, Pennsylvania, Carl Coleman of Canton, Bill Coleman of San Jose, California, Gary Mandley of Westfield Center, Ohio, and many friends. She was preceded in death by an infant son, one brother, Earl Scott; and three sisters, Clara Tinlin, Carrie Scott and Gertrude Coleman. Funeral services will be held December 24, at 11 a.m. in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home at Carrollton with Rev. Larry Lalama officiating. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services, Memorial contributions may be made to the Frist Presbyterian Church on North Lisbon Street, Carrollton.
